Will Mets Lord It over Barons?

Wednesday, 12th October 2011

Trafford Metros aim to extend their 100% home record when they take on the Solihull Barons at the Altrincham Ice Dome this Saturday. Newly promoted Solihull have found the going tough so far this season, but despite their lowly position, they've already beaten Nottingham Lions and gone close against a strong Telford side. Metros know there's no room for complacency. and will be hoping for a repeat of their comprehensive 7 - 2 victory over the midlanders at Hobs Moat Road back on the opening weekend of the campaign.

If Trafford are to make it a fourth successive home victory and remain in contention at the top end of the table, they'll have to do it without the league's leading point scorer Jamie Rogerson, who is unavailable. Meanwhile, Ciaran Long from the Manchester Phoenix squad, continues to recover from injury, and there is a real possibility of him taking Rogerson's place on the Metros' bench at the weekend. The opportunity for Long to get some much-needed match practice before returning to action with Phoenix could be a big help to both Altrincham based teams. With no other reported injury concerns, Metros' should take to the ice with a full bench and will do even better with your support! Come and cheer on the team at the Altrincham Ice Dome this Saturday. Doors open at 4.30pm, and face off is at 5.15pm.
