Metros Ready to Douse Blaze
Trafford Metros return to action in Altrincham this weekend with a Sunday match against Coventry Blaze. Mets will want to avenge their recent home defeat by Billingham and to reassert their superiority at Fortress Ice Dome.
It's their first fixture of the season against the midlands' outfit so Mets are keen to set a precedent by stamping their authority on the game. Blaze have had an indifferent start to the campaign, winning only four of their fourteen league fixtures to date. Their line up is a mixture of experience and youth, including several of last season's U18s who've made the move up to senior hockey, plus former Metros' defenceman Ashton Jenion, who is sure to get a particularly warm welcome.
Mets need two points from this match to be certain of maintaining third place in the league or even, subject to other results, leapfrogging Whitley into second, so your support is vital. Come down to the Ice Dome for Sunday's 5.15pm face off and cheer them on!
