As Saturdays game against the Guilford Flames looms Coach Hand has decided to turn to the inform Trafford Metros for help. The Phoenix will be without the services of Josh Ward, Stephen Wallace and Tony Hand which leaves the squad very short for a tough match up against the inform Flames. So as the Metros are a part of the senior setup in Manchester and they are turning heads in the English National League it’s time for 3 of the Metros stars to shine.
First up Jake Nurse, known well around the rink Jake is a no nonsense hockey player and is very strong on the puck with good vision of the ice and can pack a punch as many of the opposition in the ENL have found out at their peril. Jake has iced for the Phoenix before and has been biding his time to show his skills on the bigger stage once again.
Up next is Jamie Rogerson, Jamie is the league leading scorer in the ENL and to say he has a screamer of a shot is an understatement. Jamie is a forward thinking player with plenty of grit and determination and is afraid to mix it up in the corners with anybody. Jamie provides the Metros with his fire power and given his chance with the phoenix I’m sure he’ll take it with both hands. Lastly is Andy Dunn, Andy like both Jake and Jamie were a product of the old Devonshire road junior development system and Andy has recently returned home to Altrincham after playing out of Hull since the old rink closed. Andy is a hard working Defender and his experience around the league will serve him well in this game and I’m sure he won’t let anybody down.
With the Phoenix helping out the Metros at the start of the year letting the ENL based side use the services of Ciaran Long and Josh Ward, it’s time for the Metros to pay back in kind and with these three players I’m sure you will all be happy with they’re addition to the side.
Good Luck boys tough game but I’m sure you’ll impress.
