There's a second successive weekend of back-to-back games in prospect for the Trafford Metros. Solihull are the visitors to the Ice Dome on Saturday, and there's a trip across the Pennines to Sheffield lined up for Sunday evening.
For Saturday's home game against the Barons, Mets will be determined to reinforce the Ice Dome's reputation as Fortress Trafford. We have a good home record, with only Billingham and Sheffield spoiling an otherwise unblemished run in Altrincham. After last Sunday's return to winning ways against Whitley Warriors, Metros should start this one brimming with confidence. John Murray will be back from a two game ban, Jamie Rogerson returns from injury and both Andy Dunn and Ben Brown are available. So, despite Marc Etherington picking up a ban for an Accidental High Stick in the Warriors game, the squad will be the nearest to full strength it's been since early December. Visitors Solihull Barons arrive on the back of a 10 - 3 hiding by a resurgent Telford Titans team, but that's no cause for complacency. Barons' fellow strugglers Coventry got the better of the Mets last Saturday, and in a league where almost any team can (and does) beat any other, we need to stay focussed if we're to rack up both points. Metros would be more than happy to repeat the 7 - 2 home victory they inflicted on the Barons back in September. Face off is at 5.15pm on Saturday, and as always, we'd be delighted to see as many supporters as possible at the Ice Dome to cheer Trafford Metros on.
