Love amongst the rubber ducks!

Ask any engaged or married couple about where the marriage proposal took place, and very few will be able to say that it was in the middle of an ice rink surrounded by rubber ducks, but one couple that will definitely be able to say that is Nick Gresty and Naomi Thomas!

In the second interval of the home game against the Milton Keynes Lightning, Naomi was celebrating her birthday in the traditional Phoenix manner, which involves standing at centre ice and being pelted with rubber ducks by fellow supporters. As the final few ducks landed and the winner of the competition was declared, Phoenix steward Nick Gresty stepped onto the ice, borrowed compere Pete Hagan's microphone, and dropped to one knee to ask the question. Luckily, Naomi said yes, and the roof was raised with cheers and applause!
