David Holland and fiancée Carolyn Atherton tied the knot at 11.30am on Thursday 14th September and in celebration of their mutual love and their affection for the game of ice hockey, they made their matrimonial vows wearing Manchester Phoenix replica team shirts.

The Phoenix club presented the couple with a special wedding day cake and a club spokesperson commented, "Hockey fans are special people and our fans are very special to our organisation. David and Carolyn have been hockey fans for many years and have stuck by the Phoenix through the period of playing inactivity. They are always at our social functions and travelled to both Edinburgh and Hull for our first two bmibaby Elite League games even though they were getting married on the Thursday! Everyone at the club wishes them the very best for their future married life together."
