Phoenix Christmas Party

Wednesday, 13th December 2006

It's that time of year when the Phoenix players like to dust off their glad rags, polish the glitterball and tuck a sprig of mistletoe into their Santa hats. Yes, it's the Manchester Phoenix Christmas Party, and it's taking place this Thursday - 14th December.

H.Nicholsons in Altrincham is the venue for this event, and the players are definitely looking forward to a night of merriment and mayhem with the Phoenix Faithful.

"It's coming to that time of the year when everyone likes to relax and have a bit of fun," says Phoenix captain Scott Basiuk. "With the situation the club has been in, there hasn't been lots of time for the fans and players to mix socially so, Thursday is a good opportunity to get together, have a few laughs and relax before we go into the serious stuff of the weekend Cup games against Coventry."

The Manchester Phoenix Christmas Party starts at 7pm and will include a hot and cold buffet, a DJ and disco, and the chance for the Phoenix Faithful to have their photo taken with the players. There will be autograph signings, present wrapping, prize draws, karaoke (not for the faint hearted!) and Tony Hand will be signing copies of his autobiography. So if you fancy letting your hair down, strutting your stuff on the dancefloor, and murdering some tunes on the microphone with the Phoenix boys, here's your chance!

Tickets for this Over-18s event are going fast, so if you'd like to take your place with the players and celebrate the Christmas season this Thursday, book now! Tickets are just £15 for Club Phoenix members and £16.50 for non-members.

To reserve your ticket, email mpullen@manchesterphoenix.co.uk or pay now using PayPal (please note that there is a surcharge for this service to cover the fees). Tickets will also be available at the door on the night.

As part of the celebrations, the Phoenix are having a "Bring a Toy Appeal". Fans are encouraged to bring a toy which will then be donated to the children at Pendlebury hospital. The players will take them to the hospital on the 19th December, and if the team win over 50% of their games before then, the role of Father Christmas will be taken by Phoenix owner Neil Morris. If the team lose 50% of the games, then Tony Hand will be donning the Santa outfit. (Please note that for health reasons, the toy must be brand new.)
