Manchester Phoenix juniors raised an impressive £850 on Sunday in a bag-packing event at Asda, Trafford Park.
The store, opposite The Trafford Centre, handed fifteen aisles over to the club's packers, and our Under 14 and Under 16 volunteers made such a good impression that Asda has invited them back for more.
Over twenty players and parents in Phoenix uniform took it in turns to man the tills for over five hours to raise the cash which will help fund ice time at other rinks until The Altrincham Ice Dome opens its doors. The players not only bagged shopping, but were also keen to spread the word about ice hockey coming back to Greater Manchester.
The Phoenix club would like to offer a huge vote of thanks to all Asda's staff for their help and to the store's customers for their generosity.
