The Canadians are coming
The Manchester Phoenix Under-16 squad play a very special Trans-Atlantic Exhibition match this coming Saturday against a team from Bradford, Ontario in Canada.
To give them their full title, they are... Tina Sibbald - Royal Lepage Minor Midget team from Bradford West Gwillimbury, OMHA.
This trans-atlantic exhibition match is a celebration of the links we've forged over the last few years. The trip organisers, Cathy and Bob O'Hara provided the Phoenix squad with help and hospitality on our tour to Canada in February. This is our chance to return the favour. Also present is OMHA rep Phil Hendry who was responsible for organising the Phoenix match schedule in Ontario.
Come along and cheer both sides.
It's end of season fun and we spend another three days with them at the Solihull International tournament the following weekend.
Entry to the Ice Dome on Saturday for this game and the Under-14's game against unbeaten (as yet) Whitley Bay (at 4.40pm) is FREE, but there will be programmes and raffle tickets on sale and a possible bucket collection to help boost the Junior club funding efforts.
