Conference Stars Shine

The Inter-Conference Finals weekend was dominated by Midland and South Western teams this year, but despite mixed fortunes for the North, Phoenix players were outstanding throughout the tournament.

Phoenix U-19 netminder Adam Summerfield claimed a shutout in the qualifying rounds as the Northern U-17s powered to first place in their group, only to narrowly miss out to the Midlands in the final.

Meanwhile at U-16 level, the performance of another Phoenix netminder, Adam Grisdale, won him selection to the All Star team and a place on the EIHA's U-16 School of Excellence alongside forward, Tom Hammond.

Places were also awarded to Paul Swindlehurst in the U-15 age group, and to Jared Dickinson in the U-14s. It is from the School of Excellence that England players are selected and to have four players selected in our inaugural season is an outstanding achievement for the club. The Phoenix organisation congratulates all the players involved in the Conference weekend and looks forward to even greater success in the future.
