Help the Phoenix U-16s go over the top!

Monday, 10th September 2007

Both Manchester Phoenix Under-16 squads are in fund raising action on Saturday 23rd September and they'd like your support by sponsoring them!

The U-16A players will be tackling the spectacular scenery of the Peak Districts Kinder Scout and Jacobs Ladder as part of a loop between Hayfield and Edale, while the U-16B squad will be heading out along the Gritstone Trail on the Cheshire / Derbyshire border.

Between them the two squads will cover over twenty miles and 2,000 feet of stiff climbing as they work to increase their fitness levels... as well as raising valuable funds for the club. Please help by sponsoring them!

The treks aim to raise cash for the club's development plans as it starts to bring on board a new generation of players for future seasons. You can pledge a donation to support the players by e-mailing... juniors@manchesterphoenix.co.uk and our fund raisers will get back in touch with you, or look out for the sponsorship forms doing the rounds at the Silver Blades Ice Dome in Altrincham.

"Ice hockey is not a cheap sport to play," explained club chairperson Paul Brown. "Extra funds will help us make it more affordable for kids to get their first taste of the sport, and hopefully go on to become the Phoenix players of the future."
