TNT Tornados 3- 8 Manchester Phoenix

Sunday Feb 10th

The Manchester Phoenix Junior tour to Canada got off to a flying start with victory in Alliston, Ontario, on Sunday night. Playing in the TNT Tornados' brand new twin-pad complex, Phoenix got off to an uncertain start. Despite a series of useful efforts from the Phoenix forwards, TNT found their way through to post a two goal lead by the first break.

The second period was a very different affair with Manchester's squad beginning to find their shape. Phoenix turned up the heat through a twenty-five minute spell, hitting back with eight unanswered goals courtesy of Jared Dickinson, Elliot Bayne, Tom Hammond and Ben Brown. A late consolation strike by the home side did nothing to upset the balance of play and Phoenix ran out comfortable 8-3 winners. The team move on to play in Orillia for their second tour match. The club's thanks go out to everyone at the TNT organisation for making us very welcome.
