The Manchester Phoenix Under-16A squad Awards Night was held last Saturday for a party of thirty-five players and family members. Club sponsors Frankie and Benny's provided the venue after an 'In-House' scrimmage at the rink.
The Phoenix U-16A squad finished a creditable fifth in the club's first season in the U-16 A league, and Elite club GM Andy Costigan was on hand as each of the players picked up their memento of the season and four collected special achievement awards and he commented, "The Junior club has come an awful long way in two years and the committee headed by Paul Brown have done a marvellous job and their efforts duly recognised. Our club is not solely about the Elite League squad and it's great to see so many players enjoying their sport and yearning to progress."
Paul Brown added, "Next season could be even better in terms of even more development... as we're very hopeful of adding two further tiers of youngsters in the shape of both Under-10s' and Under 12s' and that will truly give us the ladder right up to the Elite League level for all youngsters to aim at."
