Manchester Phoenix Junior Club coaches Paul 'Nipper' Bayliss and Kevin Cassidy are flying out to Canada next week to attend a top ice hockey coaching seminar.
The Hockey Canada International Coaching Conference is being held in Quebec City in conjunction with the 2008 IIHF World Championship tournament. The Phoenix pairing will fly out to Quebec on April 30th and a hectic and packed schedule will commence at 9.00am on May 2nd with the first of a marathon session of meetings with current and former NHL and international coaches together with former NHL players like goaltender Sean Burke.
Each day of the four-day seminar will also see the Phoenix duo attend a game of the World Championships with a mouth-watering clash between Russia and the Czech Republic on Day Three.
Paul Bayliss commented, "I've been to a number of these seminars and whilst they are a very busy four days, you never fail to learn something new. When you get the chance to hear guys like former Team Canada and Team Japan coach Dave King, who has also coached two years in the Russian Superleague, speak you simply cannot afford to turn it down."
Kevin Cassidy added, "The subjects the speakers will address us on are many and varied, and as Nipper says, the opportunity to learn from some of the best in the business can only be good for us as individuals and the long-term future of the Phoenix Junior Club - I can't wait."
