Before the beginning...

Andy Costigan has taken the difficult decision to step down from the position of GM with the Manchester Phoenix ice hockey club. Andy, who has been with the club from before its inception, has taken the decision after his current workloads and business travel have increased once again. The club has also been asking more and more from Andy who not only has the Phoenix to look after, but also contributes significantly to the Metros and the junior system. On many occasions he has put the club before his family and health, but stated that "this has been a very difficult decision to make, but one I feel will benefit my family and the club in the long term".

Neil Morris, owner of the Phoenix, said that "Andy's dedication and loyalty to the club was second to none, I really don't know what I would have done without this guy, he has been a rock. Andy has taken so much on for the club, working tirelessly over the years well into the early hours of the morning on a regular basis".

I am sure that you will know when Andy is still about both at the games and on the various forums, so watch out. This man is far from leaving the club...
