Best of British

Wednesday, 17th November 2010

Manchester Phoenix and Coventry Blaze are pleased to announce the "Best Of British" clashes between the two teams.

The games will be played with 4 imports on each bench, making this the first time that an EPL team and an Elite League team have competed with equal numbers of British players.

Blaze head coach Paul Thompson has called on the services of Joe Henry, Jack Watkins and Josh Bruce, who've all been playing for the Telford Tigers, alongside the current Blaze Brits, including new signing Robert Farmer, forward Ross Venus net minder Tom Murdy and Russ Cowley. Thompson is yet to reveal which four imports he'll be bringing to the games, with former Phoenix forward Luke Fulgham a possible for one of the places.

Phoenix net minder Steve Fone, Curtis Huppe, Greg Wood, and James Archer are all looking forward to taking on their former team, and Phoenix head coach Tony Hand is predicting a really tight encounter between the two teams.

The away leg is at the Coventry Skydome Arena on Weds 8th December - face-off 7:30pm.

The deciding home leg will be played on Thurs 16th December - face-off 7:30pm - at the Altrincham Ice Dome.
