Phoenix and Metros join forces

Wednesday, 31st August 2011

Manchester Phoenix will join forces with Trafford Metros at the weekend when the ENL side take on Nottingham Lions in their first ENL North League game.

Young forwards Ciaran Long and Josh Ward will ice for the Metros in their first competitive match of the season.

20 year old Ciaran and 19year old Josh are raring to get going this coming season and see the game as a vital part of their pre season. Both will add depth to the under-strength ENL squad for Saturday’s tough game against the Lions.

The Metros have been busy both on and off ice in pre-season. As the ENL arm of the Phoenix family, training has been in full swing for the last two weeks and the squad is ready for the first competitive action of the new season.

The match will face off on Saturday 3rd September at 5.15pm with doors opening at 4.30pm.

Don’t forget; all Phoenix EPL season ticket holders now get FREE entry to regular season Metros matches and the student ticket price has been cut to just £3. All you have to do is turn up. Your name will be checked from the ST holders’ list to gain free entry.

After a tough campaign last year, the Mets are determined to put up a good show in the league this season. Pack away the swimming trunks and shorts and get down to the Dome and support the team against the pride of Nottingham, the Nottingham Lions.
