Phantoms ghost into town on Sunday

Thursday, 17th November 2011

J Davidson sponsored Manchester Phoenix take on Peterborough Phantoms in back to back games this weekend. They play in Peterborough on Saturday before entertaining them at the Altrincham Ice Dome on Sunday with the usual face off of 1730.

Peterborough have, like Phoenix, been beset with injury problems all season. Add a couple of players who decided to leave the club and it is no surprise that they are struggling in the league.

However they are not a team to be taken lightly and have some quality players in their squad who can cause any team in the league some damage. Jeff Glowa, Phantoms’ captain, is very capable of turning a game in a heartbeat and Maris Ziedins is banging in the goals. Shaun Yardley played his first game of the season last weekend and will be eager to make up for lost time.

Phoenix beat the Phantoms 5-0 when they last visited the Dome and a repeat result would certainly please the Phoenix Faithful. The injury-plagued home side will be hoping the injury list diminishes soon as they strive to hold on to their championship.

The nights are drawing in, so where better to while away those dark winter nights than at the Dome watching Manchester’s fastest and most exciting sports team?

You know you want to.
