Jets to touch-down at the Dome

Thursday, 24th November 2011

J Davidson sponsored Manchester Phoenix take on the Slough Jets in an English Premier League match on Sunday 27th November with the usual face off at 17.30hrs.

This will be the third time the two teams have met this season and the score stands at one win each. Phoenix travelled down to Slough for the opening fixture of the season and came away with a 5-3 win after leading 4-0 at one point. The Jets were in town a month later and took the points with a 4-3 overtime win. Both games were a great advert for EPL hockey.

Slough have gone from strength to strength since those early encounters and currently sit in second place in the league. They had a zero point weekend last time out and will be going all out to get back on track.

They have the most potent offence in the league and ones to watch out for are, Darius Pliskauskas and Adam Calder. Between them, they have already scored 60 points so far this season. Backing them up in the scoring charts is player coach Doug Sheppard, no slouch himself with a personal total of 23 points. Toughness comes in the shape of the Greener brothers. There is never a dull moment when they are on the ice.

Phoenix will be hoping to have a couple of their injured players back for this game and it promises to be another barn burner at the Dome.

Come along and watch two of the best teams in the league do battle for the points in more ways than one.

Never mind the Xmas shopping, bring a friend along to watch Manchester’s fastest and most exciting sports team, Manchester Phoenix.
