Huge game at the Dome on Sunday

Friday, 16th December 2011

The J Davidson sponsored Manchester Phoenix entertain Milton Keynes Lightning on Sunday 18th December, face off 1730hrs.

This is the Lightning’s first visit to Altrincham this season and the game could not be more important. This match doubles up as a Cup qualifier and only a win for Phoenix will see them progress to the semi-finals. Lightning have already qualified for the last four.

Couple of guys to watch out for in the Lightning roster: Leigh Jamieson, a player not universally popular with the Phoenix faithful, nevertheless, a major threat. Leigh has converted from defender to forward this season. The experiment has been a huge success as he has bagged 33 points (14 goals, 19 assists) so far this season. Another one to watch out for is Lukas Zatopek, a classy defender with a rocket shot from the blue line.

Since we joined the English Premier League, the games against Milton Keynes have been fast, furious, physical and very entertaining. This is one you do not want to miss.

Grab your grannie, bring your friends, offer them a free bag of chips if they come, but make sure you are all at the Dome on Sunday for the key game of the season.

Tony Hand and the squad really do appreciate the noise from the seats at games. Last week’s crowd was the best and the noisiest of the season and helped the lads come so close to pulling off a result.

Come along and be loud and proud and watch Manchester’s fastest and most exciting sports team, Manchester Phoenix.
