The Tigers are prowling

Wednesday, 8th February 2012

J Davidson sponsored Manchester Phoenix take on the Telford Tigers on Saturday night at the Dome, face off 19:00hrs.

The Tigers are firmly rooted at the bottom of the English Premier League but certainly cannot be taken lightly. Tom Watkins’ charges always seem to raise their game against Phoenix and we have had to bring out our ‘A’ game to make sure of the points.

However, in the last two games against the Tigers, Phoenix have scored 17 goals and will be aiming to give the home fans plenty to cheer about once more.

Telford have a potent offence with Scott McKenzie (18 goals) and Joe Henry (17 goals) always capable of finding the net and they are well supported by Josh Bruce (13 goals). Defence is where they have problems and are just one goal short of shipping 200 this season.

Phoenix will be looking to make sure that milestone is reached at the Dome on Saturday night as they strive to keep in touch with league leaders Guildford. James Archer was buzzing after his hat trick last weekend and is keen to keep hold of his re-found scoring touch. Stephen Fone is in fine form and will be doing his best to keep the Telford forwards at bay.

It is cold outside, but you can be sure of a warm welcome at the Dome, so get your scarves and mitts on and come on down on Saturday night to watch Manchester’s fastest and most exciting sports team, Manchester Phoenix.
