TIGERS ON THE LOOSE AND HEADING TO THE DOME

J Davidson sponsored Manchester Phoenix take on the Telford Tigers in the EPL and Challenge Cup competitions on Sunday 23rd September with the usual face off time of 1730hrs.

Phoenix started their league campaign last week with a 50% win/loss record, beating Swindon away and narrowly losing to Basingstoke last Sunday.

They make the trip to Milton Keynes on Saturday, looking to maintain their winning away record but a new-look Lightning side will make it tough for the Phoenix.

On Sunday Telford Tigers are the visitors and it is a chance for Phoenix forward Scott McKenzie to face up to his former team mates.

Telford have lost two of their first liners from last season in Scott McKenzie (Phoenix) and Josh Bruce(Slough). On the recruitment front, they have new imports in D man Jaroslav Kruzik from the Czech Republic and forwards Patrick Greene from USA College hockey and Jaroslav Cesky from Swindon.

Cesky is a player the Phoenix defence will have to watch carefully. He has been playing in the Elite League for 3 years, totting up 159 games, 115 goals, 150 assists and 302 penalty minutes with Bracknell and Swindon.

Phoenix will be hoping to bounce right back from their disappointing defeat to Basingstoke last week where they dominated a large part of the game only to find netminder Stevie Lyle in superb form and backstopping the Bison to a 2-1 win.

The team has had a hard week training and the whole team is raring to go and show the Phoenix faithful just how good a team they are this season.

Come and get over the pain of last weekend and cheer the team on to victory. You, the fan, are the extra forward for the team and they all appreciate the support you give them on match night.
