Phoenix host Peterborough in Deeside

Friday, 20th November 2015

Despite suggestions to the contrary, Manchester Phoenix will welcome the Peterborough Phantoms in Deeside for the second time this season on Sunday evening.

Phoenix will be looking to build on last weekend’s enthralling game against Swindon, when Phoenix came from 3-1 down to level the game with only 20 seconds remaining, before falling to an overtime goal with only 2.5 seconds left.

Peterborough came out on top when the sides met in North Wales in October as the visitors claimed a 5-2 win against a short-benched Phoenix team.  The Phantoms, under former Phoenix player Slava Koulikov, have started the season strongly and currently sit top with games in hand on their rivals.

Peterborough have been strong at both ends of the ice, conceding the fewest goals (44) and sitting second in the scoring charts (80).  Latvian goaltender Janis Auzins continues to impress with a .932 save percentage, whilst Craig Scott leads the team with 28 points.

The Deeside crowd has been treated to a number of thrilling games already this year, and tickets for the game are still available online.  Face-off in Deeside will be at 6:30pm.
