The Phoenix celebrate their return to Manchester

Wednesday, 27th July 2016

The Phoenix celebrated their return to Manchester on Friday night with a packed event at the Mercure hotel, Piccadilly in the city.  The Phoenix sought out the support of local music bands for the chance to perform live at the event and to work on a series of musical collaborations together.

After a high number of great entries a Phoenix judging panel decided that late entry Zero Symphony were the clear winners, with a vibrant rock track that meshed so well with the fast exciting pace of Ice Hockey. Zero Symphony is a three member rock band, comprising Edd (Guitar/Lead Vocals), Fran (Bass/Vocals) and Jim (Drums/Vocals) and are set to make a huge impression on the Manchester music scene. Phoenix already have a coming home song that has been rewritten by a member of the Choirboys who lead all the chants with their own drum section at Phoenix games. A local studio has already offered to help put the musical accompaniment down with the new lyrics. Since the event Zero Symphony have offered to write a specific piece of music that could be used to start Match night each week.
