Parez in safe and sound, ready to play

Friday, 10th November 2006

Manchester Phoenix coach Tony Hand is delighted to confirm that new signing Ales Parez has arrived safe and sound in Manchester and will debut against the Edinburgh Capitals on Saturday night.

“Ales’s flight arrived bang on time,” advised the Phoenix coach adding, “and unlike some of the guys in the summer, so did all his equipment too. I’ve talked with him at length and he’s ready to go on Saturday against the Caps.”

The Czech-born player commented, “It’s great to be here and having met Tony and the other guys, I’m really looking forward to pulling on the shirt and getting into the action. The welcome I got from the organisation was brilliant, you certainly know how to make a person feel at home quickly.”

Meanwhile, Phoenix will wait until the very last minute before deciding upon the availability of those players who have been under treatment all week. Tony Hand remarked, “the news from the physio table is encouraging and all being well, we’ll be close to full strength. We will see how guys feel after warm-up and make the decisions then.”
