Phoenix waiting on health checks

Thursday, 22nd March 2007

Manchester Phoenix are keeping their fingers crossed on health reports on the players affected this week by the mystery virus that has hit the squad.

With an important bmibaby Elite League encounter against the Basingstoke Bison on Thursday evening at the Altrincham Ice Dome, Phoenix will leave it to the last minute before naming the team to take to the ice.

A club spokesperson noted, "We missed Tony Hand, Adam Radmall and Adam Walker last weekend and to be fair, others were not as 100% as we would have liked them to have been. Tony is on the mend, and we are hopeful that he'll play tomorrow. But, we'll wait and see how the others are right up to the end of the warm-up period if necessary."

With two further homes games this weekend against Belfast on Saturday and Coventry on Sunday at the Altrincham Ice Dome, Phoenix will then turn their concentration on the post-season playoffs and an announcement on those fixtures will be made as soon as possible once the opposition is confirmed.

Tickets for the Basingstoke, Belfast and Coventry games at the Ice Dome will be available on the door.
