Thursday evening saw the annual Meet the Players introduction evening at the Cresta Court Hotel. Well over 200 hundred Phoenix supporters turned out to give a rapturous welcome to 14 of the new 18-man Phoenix roster.

Phoenix MD Neil Morris opened the evening by welcoming two major new sponsors to the club in Nathan Harrop-Davies from Hyundai Manchester, the teams new car sponsors and Gary Boland from Magnum Holidays, the teams new travel partner who brought along the absolutely magnificent tour bus that the 08-09 Phoenix squad will travel in.

GM Andy Costigan then introduced all the current players with, not surprisingly, Brett Clouthier receiving the loudest cheer as he was announced into the room. Every player was presented with one of their shirts for the new season either by Garry MacLaren or Carl from Radsheep ,the clubs shirt provider.

Phoenix are still awaiting the arrival of Kenton Smith, Luke Fulghum, Bruce Mulherin and Kyle Bruce. All four of the outstanding players have received their Work Permits and are attempting to expedite their UK entry visa applications as quickly as possible.
