Please allow me to introduce myself

As some of you are no doubt aware, about 2 weeks ago it was announced in the e-zine that the role of communications officer had been filled by someone. Well, that someone is me, Robb Hitchen.

For those of you who don’t know me, I thought I would do a little piece to introduce myself to you all. I’ve been involved, on and off, with the Manchester Phoenix since the very beginning (and before infact). I was one of the original organisers of the protest outside the MEN Arena, back when the Storm folded, and was one of the first people to step forward when a supporters gropup was proposed. I was part of the initial FOMIH Steering Committee up until just before the 1st season when I became a ‘Block Rep’ on match nights.

Since then I have helped the club out in a number of small ways (offering an opinion here and there, helping out when asked, embarrassing myself in the name of period break entertainment), and have been a loud, and sometimes controversial member of the official forum, as well as maintaining the oldest still active Phoenix fansite, the Pyre.

It is my intention to help improve the communication s between the club and the fans, in both directions, as during the last season they became somewhat strained. I will be available through the forum (where I post as ‘thelearnedrobb’), via e-mail (coming soon), and on game days (both before and during the game). And if anyone wants a little chat, I will be at the Supporters Club meeting on the 3rd.
