Double header in Hull

Friday, 3rd December 2004

This past weekend saw the Manchester Phoenix Tour Bus take the road to Hull for a double header. On Saturday night it was the turn of Edinburgh, complete with old Storm favourite Dave Troffimenkoff in goal. Dave won a well-deserved Man of the Match in a close fought 3-2 Edinburgh win.

Sunday night saw Hull playing host to league leaders Bracknell with two other Manchester favourites amongst their numbers - Dwight Parrish, and netminder Stevie Lyle. Dwight scored one of Bracknell's two goals, whilst Stevie picked up Man of the Match in the 2-0 win.

All in all it was an unlucky weekend for Hull, however in their defence they had just played 5 games in 9 days and had just ran out of steam. It was an excellent weekend for ex-Manchester netminders though!

It's a fabulous experience, sitting in a smaller arena, taking the same seat every match, getting to know your neighbours, feeling the buzz and excitement as the atmosphere builds till it becomes electric. I can't wait for the day when our own rink is built and our opposing teams and fans feel more than a little temerity at the prospect of coming to our rink.

Till then, the Phoenix Tour Bus will be appearing in your arena somewhere. Come on over and say hello,we won't bite - YET!
