The cross-league competition this weekend proved to be a fairly successful one for the Elite League clubs, with Belfast Giants taking the trip up to Edinburgh on Sunday to claim a 6-1 victory over their hosts. The Giants were also in Scottish action the previous night, losing 6-5 in overtime to Fife. Further south, the Bracknell Bees paid a visit to the Skydome in Coventry for an inter-league clash that saw the Blaze take the sting out of their visitors with a 3-0 win.

The weekend also saw a home-and-away pairing between the Steelers and the Devils, with Cardiff hosting Sheffield on Saturday in a 2-2 draw, and Sheffield losing at home to Cardiff on Sunday in a 2-1 overtime thriller.

Elsewhere in the Elite League, the London Racers took the points with a last-gasp overtime marker from Dennis Maxwell against Nottingham at the NIC on Sunday, a day after Nottingham marked up a road win with a 2-1 result at Basingstoke.
