The off-ice report

Wednesday, 11th May 2005
The London Racers have fortified their goal with the acquisition of netminder Ladislav Kudrna for the forthcoming season.  The former Hull Stingrays netminder caught the attention of the entire league when he iced for Nottingham Panthers in the Play-Offs this past season, taking the place of the injured Curtis Cruickshank.  Racers player-coach Dennis Maxwell is confident that Kudrna can make the step up to the Elite League on a permanent basis:

"I have complete faith he is ready," says Maxwell. "All he has to do now is prove his Play Off performance isn't a fluke.  I'm confident it wasn't and he will be ready for the start of next season."

Cardiff Devils have swooped to sign Gerad Adams for the new season. Defenceman Adams spent last season with the Sheffield Steelers, following a stint with the London Knights.

Newcastle Vipers have retained the services of Matt Beveridge for a third season, and player-coach Rob Wilson couldn't be happier.  "Matt has had two fantastic seasons for us.  He joined us from Invicta for the EPL and stepped up to the British National League, yet still put up great numbers for us.  He has put points on the board wherever he has played, and I'm certain that will continue into the Elite League next season."
