Phoenix fix up Vipers dates

Friday, 10th October 2003

Manchester Phoenix are pleased to announce two Challenge games have been agreed with FBNL team Newcastle Vipers.

The Vipers will travel south to take on the Phoenix at the Deeside Leisure Centre on Saturday November 29th with a 5.00pm face off time, with the Phoenix travelling to the Telewest Arena on Tyneside on Thursday December 4th for a 7.15pm face off.

Phoenix spokeman Andy Costigan commented, “Rob Wilson and I have been talking for some weeks and Rick has been in communication with Clyde Tuhl, and we’re pleased to confirm the dates to play the Vipers. It will be good to see the likes of Jonathon Weaver, David Longstaff and Paul Ferone again, and of course Willie… and I’m sure the Phoenix fans will relish the chance to take in the hog roast sandwiches in the Telewest again.”

Phoenix coach Rick Brebant added, “We decided to take the Vipers game to Deeside to give the folks local to our training facility the chance to see the team in action again. Everyone at Deeside has been very good to us and it’s only right that we take the team there for a competitive game. Our relationship with the people of Deeside is good for the sport and I’m sure they’ll come out to watch us play.”

Full details of ticket prices and travel arrangements will appear shortly on the official Phoenix web site as well as the FOMIH Supporters Club site at www.fomih.co.uk
