Phoenix to douse the Flames

Wednesday, 21st March 2012

J Davidson sponsored Manchester Phoenix welcome newly-crowned EPL Champions Guildford Flames to the Dome on Sunday in their penultimate league match of the season. Guildford eased the title from Phoenix’s grasp last week and the home side will be up for showing them who is boss at the Dome.

Guildford have been scoring at a fantastic rate all season and top scorer Nathan Rempel needs seven goals to make it a half century for the season. Ex Phoenix favourite Curtis Huppe has 26 goals from his 32 game season, curtailed by a nasty injury that kept him out for several weeks. At the back, Jez Lundin and player coach Paul Dixon have been solid at the back, complementing fine netminder Mark Lee.

Phoenix will be hoping to come back from a disappointing last weekend where they lost back to back games and get some momentum going into the play offs. Martin Cingel and Juraj Faith will be looking to add to their points totals and keep the points in Manchester. The team want to hang on to their second place in the league which will guarantee a home second leg in the play off quarter finals.

Face off is 17.30, so get the shopping done early and don’t forget that the clocks go forward on Saturday night. Get down to the Dome and watch Manchester’s fastest and most exciting sports team, Manchester Phoenix.
