Jets scheduled to fly into the Dome

Thursday, 4th October 2012

J Davidson sponsored Manchester Phoenix will play the Slough Jets in an English Premier League and Cup game on Sunday 7th October, face off 1730hrs.

Phoenix will be looking to add to their four point haul last week in their only fixture of the coming weekend.

Slough Jets will be bringing a much changed line up from last season with at least 8 major changes to their squad.

Player -coach Doug Sheppard has left to take up a similar role with the Basingstoke Bison and he has been replaced by Slava Koulikov who played in Phoenix colours last season.
Another ex Phoenix player has also signed for the Jets this season. Fan favourite Ladislav Harabin will be patrolling their blue line for season 2012-13.

Jets have also lost the services of top British forward Joe Greener and agitator/enforcer Ryan Watt. They have been replaced by Josh Bruce (ex Telford Tigers) and Michael Wales (ex MK Lightning).

Add to that the talents of Frantisek Bakrlik, who joins from Elite League side Hull Stingrays and you can be sure the Jets will be up there challenging again this season.

Phoenix, on the other hand, are buoyant after a great 4 point weekend last time out and will be keen to keep home fans happy with another victory at the Dome.

Coach Hand commented in midweek: “As always it will be a hard game against Slough. Slava has recruited well and we will have to be on form on Sunday. With Ladzi and Slava making their first visit back to the Dome, it will be an interesting game. As it is our only weekend game, it is important to get the points, especially in front of our own fans. We are playing well and I am looking forward to building on last weekend’s results.”

Ladzi and Slava are making their first visit to the Dome since moving teams. This is one you do not want to miss. Sunday is your only chance to see the senior squad this weekend, so get down to the Dome and shout loud and proud for your Phoenix and give our two returnees something to think about on their return.
