Bees swarm into the Dome

Wednesday, 23rd January 2013

J Davidson sponsored Manchester Phoenix play the Bracknell Bees on Saturday night in an EPL game with a 1900hrs face off.

Phoenix appear to have Bracknell’s number with 3 victories out of 3. This will be their last visit in the regular season and Phoenix will be keen to keep their winning streak going. The two games played at the Dome have not been without goal action with Phoenix winning 7-1 and 6-3.

However, the Bees are not to be taken lightly as, on their day, they are well capable of beating any side. In goal they have two experienced netminders in Tom Annetts and Carl Ambler who share the number 1 spot between the pipes. The club suffered a blow when top defender Marcel Petran left them last month but were quick to sign Czech d man Pavel Strycek to fill the gap on the blue line. Up front they have the evergreen Martin Masa and Lukas Smital scoring the goals this season with British forward Shaun Thompson contributing with 23 goals of his own. They have a physical edge to their game with James Galazzi and Scott Spearing amassing over 200 penalty minutes between them and pitbull Alan Lack is not averse to mixing it as well.

Phoenix will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing 1 point weekend that coach Hand thought they deserved more out of.

He commented: “I thought we played well in Basingstoke and could have got something from the game. On Sunday we looked tired and Peterborough, fresh from a night off, made it very difficult for us and took the win. This weekend will again be a tough one but we are looking to take the points to keep the pressure on the teams above us.”

Phoenix travel to Berkshire on Sunday for a return fixture against the Bracknell Bees.

13 Phoenix goals in the last two games against the Bees. You do not want to miss the chance of seeing your favourites continue that form. Seven o’clock Saturday night is the time to be at the Dome. See you there.
