Phoenix fans are just the ticket!

Thursday, 23rd July 2015

Manchester Phoenix have been swamped with season ticket applications, after phone lines were re-opened at 9am this morning.

The club postponed the process earlier this summer, after it became clear that playing out of the former ‘temporary’ rink in Altrincham was unviable

The Phoenix will spend a year based at the Olympic-sized Deeside Ice Rink, before moving to a purpose-built, 3,000-seater arena in Manchester.

Phoenix owner, Neil Morris, is delighted with the response from supporters this morning.

He said: “As soon as we opened the lines, we started getting calls. To get so many people ringing us is just wonderful and shows how much the fans care about this club

“It has been a summer of changes for everyone involved with The Phoenix, but we’re now looking at an incredibly exciting new future.

“We’ve sold hundreds of season tickets already and we are urging fans to secure one as soon as possible. This morning’s reaction shows what can be achieved with hard work and passion.”

Next year’s English Premier League is shaping up to be one of the most competitive in years, following the mid-summer addition of Hull Pirates.

Virtually every team has strengthened their roster – including the Phoenix, who this week signed NHL draft pick, Stanislav Gron.

And Mr Morris believes that is being reflected in the ticket sales.

He added: “I can’t wait for the puck to drop on next season. Tony Hand is putting together a very good squad, and having guys like Stanislav Gron is an indicator of that.

“The capacity of Deeside Ice Rink is smaller than that of the old rink in Altrincham, with only about 750 seats. But that means The Phoenix Faithful can make our new home into a fortress.

“Our emphasis on using British players, with just a few imports, means we will have a team that the whole of Manchester can be proud of.

“I am very excited about the new season and judging by today’s news, so are our fans.”

Season tickets will cost £324 for the early bird adult option (available until September 6th) and £351 afterwards. The concession price is £229.50 for the early bid option and £256 afterwards.
