There's a Phantom coming to town

Wednesday, 5th October 2011

J Davidson sponsored Manchester Phoenix entertain the Peterborough Phantoms in an English Premier League game on Saturday evening with a 19.00 face off. The game also doubles as a qualifying fixture for the English Premier Cup.

Peterborough have not had the best of starts but are always a tough team to break down.

Stephen Wall is a well respected netminder in the league and is sure to make things difficult for the Phoenix forwards.

At the back, old favourite Joe Graham now patrols their blue line after signing from Guildford and player coach Chad Allen is another to watch in the defensive corps.

Up front, skipper Jeff Glowa is a tough competitor who is always up for a challenge and he is ably supported by Latvian Maris Ziedins, already a prolific scorer in the league this season.

Phoenix come in to this rare Saturday adventure on the back of three wins out of four so far this season and will be looking to consolidate this good start with a couple of league and cup points.

Martin Cingel is on fire up front and, as the club’s top marksman with 6 goals, is keen to keep this streak going.

The club’s three games at the Dome have produced 19 goals and they are undefeated on home ice. Come along and watch the region’s fastest and most exciting sports team, Manchester Phoenix, exorcise the Phantoms and continue their chase for this season’s silverware.
