Phoenix to play from Deeside in 2015-16

Wednesday, 1st July 2015

The Phoenix are excited to announce that they will play from Deeside for the 2015-2016 EPL season until a permanent new arena in Manchester, currently under negotiations, is complete.

As promised a few weeks ago during our meeting at The Mercure in Manchester, we will be providing four 100-seat FREE Luxury coaches.

Each coach will host a pre-match commentator to keep Phoenix fans informed of club and league news, and the game that day.

Updates from Tony Hand and exclusive competitions will also be run across all the coaches with specialist prizes up for grabs. We are currently collating data to ensure the Greater Manchester pickup points suit as many Phoenix fans as possible.

We are all very excited at the club about the next few years for The Phoenix Organisation. With Red Hockey coming on board, it has been like a shot in the arm for us. We are committed to building a venue where fans are comfortable and can see all the action.

Tony is spending the summer building a squad that we expect to challenge for next season’s EPL title. Believe me, Tony is looking forward to producing a winning team for you, The Phoenix Faithful.

He said to me last night: “Obviously it’s been very difficult for Neil and I since the playoff final weekend, but we are both similar characters and are not easily deterred from reaching our end goal.

“We have some very loyal fans and I think people will be surprised at their solidarity. I can’t wait to unveil the new players that are going to strengthen our current squad. Roll on September.

The news of a new building for The Phoenix is very exciting. I have two more British players that I think will be a surprise for our fans, as well as waiting for the ink to dry on a forward who has the potential to be MVP for the League.”

Phoenix skipper, Luke Boothroyd, told me this morning that he is set to make a return from injury next season. And he’s preparing to mark that return with a challenge for honours.

He said in our call: “This club, its fans and the people who run it are truly exceptional. They deserve success after this summer and I am determined to make that happen. The squad that Tony is building looks superb and with the additions he is planning, the guys and I can’t wait to hit the ice. There is every chance we will up there challenging for the title once again.”

We are about to show prototypes of our new kit online, for the fans to have their input on how the team will look going forward.

We have also decided that all season ticket holders this year will not only be guaranteed travel and a seat of their own choice over at the Olympic sized rink at Deeside, but will have their season tickets upgraded to gold standard for the first season in the new building.

As part of our ongoing commitment to our loyal sponsors and the greater Manchester area, we plan to hold frequent live events, where fans will be able to interact directly with the team and be exposed to all the great products available from our sponsors.

Our next live event will be at the end of this month, when we will unveil our new kit for 2015/2016 along with the announcement of a marquee new player for our club. This will be held in the centre of Manchester, at a time and place to be confirmed.

May I finish by thanking you all for your kind words and support over the last ten years. Remember without you there is no Phoenix, You are the spirit of ice hockey In Manchester.
