Getting better all the time!

Wednesday, 17th October 2007

At the Altrincham Ice Dome the Long Road Home is coming to an end, with the installation of the new seating sections and staircases well underway, and soon enough we will be playing in a rink that we can finally say is finished! Likewise, the Manchester Phoenix match night experience is being built up brick by brick. The hard work that the army of staff and volunteers at Manchester Phoenix put into a match night is becoming more and more evident, and it's certainly turning a few heads not just with our home supporters but also with the travelling fans who we welcome into our Dome!

This past weekend, the Phoenix hosted the Coors Belfast Giants, and one visiting supporter felt so impressed by the Manchester Phoenix match night experience that he got in touch with the supporters on our forum to give his reaction. Giants fan Patrick Smyth posted these words on the official Phoenix Forum:

"I was met by a lot of friendly faces who wanted to nothing more than a bit of hockey chat and were happy to point me in the right direction around the rink. Be it the away block or the bar! The whole game package was very well run and a joy to behold. I was impressed by the 'Travelling Road Show' in Ice Sheffield last season, but tonight on my first visit to your new home I have to say I was impressed by the whole set up."

Patrick went on to add "The people who are involved are a credit to you all and more teams should take your example."

Patrick also contacted the staff here at Manchester Phoenix to say "I was overwhelmed by the professionalism and high quality of your game night set up. I was honestly blown away by it. From the pre-game to the work on the screens with the highlights and the intro of the team it was brilliant. It really sent a shiver down the spine which I haven't had in any other arena in the UK."

The Managing Director of Manchester Phoenix, Neil Morris, was pleased to read the feedback. "There are so many people working in so many different ways to keep on building our team," he says. "From the programme sellers and the stewards, the media crew and the locker room staff, the front of house staff and the office staff and everyone inbetween, there is so much hard work being done by so many good people. To read kind words such as these from a visiting supporter, it reflects so well on the hard work being done."

"We're striving to be the best match night experience in the league," Neil adds, "and with positive reviews such as the one from Patrick, I think we're well on the way!"
